5Adds the necessary extra cargo space to my 2007 VW GTI for our trips!
By Ron M.
I have this installed on my Curt Manufacturing 110740 Class I Receiver Hitch for our 300 mile road trips. I haven't used it just yet so I cannot comment on durability, but I received it well packaged, no scratches, and all of the welds look solid.

It might be worth noting that the finish is a glossy black, but the product pictures makes it look like a matte finish. It included a set of red reflective tape to put on the 2 corners for visibility at night.

There's almost no assembly required, just fitting the carrier onto your car to determine how close you want it to be to your bumper then bolting it onto the adapter. It's great because due to the s-type design, it raises the carrier a bit for more ground clearance and less road gunk on your stuff.

When there's no weight on the carrier, it will bounce around a tiny bit because it doesn't fit perfectly into the 1 1/4" hitch, but I don't think anything does. Once you put your bags and cargo on it, it shouldn't be a problem. Note the tongue weight on your hitch - mine is 200 lbs max. This carrier being ~50 lbs, I am only able to store ~150 lbs worth of cargo, which should be fine for the size of it.

I plan on buying a Rola 59102 Expandable Hitch Tray Cargo Bag because according to the dimensions, it will be an almost perfect fit and a great companion for this carrier.

See the product page for additional pictures of it mounted onto my car.

UPDATE 1/7/12: I have used the carrier about 4-5 times now for different road trips along w/ the Rola 59102 bag I mentioned above, and it's held up really well - I don't even notice I have all this cargo behind me in-tow when I'm driving. This is a great purchase and well worth the money!

5Perfect solution for keeping nasties out of my car
By Dave W
I use it with a Kia Optima to keep the dirty, smelly stuff out of my trunk. Works great for what I bought it for.

4Great for holding extra cargo or stuff we don't want to put inside.
By Janis S.
We are happy with this product. The assembly wasn't to difficult. It's a snug fit in the hitch, takes a bit of wiggling sometimes. We were surprised the pin didn't have a lock. Not a problem because we had one from the hitch cover that we use. Would recommend this product.
