5Invidia Q300 cat back exhaust
By ctsti
I installed the Q300 on my 2011 STI sedan. Installation was almost seamless. The only glitch was mating the Cobb catted downpipe. Although the Cobb easily mated with the oem exhaust there was difficulty getting a leakproof seal at the flanges. The small leak was resolved after a helpful call to Invidia tech support. A substitute bolt was used and problem solved.
We followed the advice of several people and did not tighten anything down until everything was in place and the tips were set exactly the way I wanted them. The end result was a really easy install. Less than an hour on the lift. Although others have told me you can do this job on jack stands I chose to find a real lift and get the car over my head. I can imagine it can be done on stands but why struggle.
After install: The sound is exactly what I hoped for. Not too loud yet the boxer rumble is clearly there. I did not do a dyno before & after so I have no opinion on HP gains. I assume the exhaust flow is less restricted but I'm skeptical of Invidia's claim for 15+ more ponies. I would be happy with 5.

Bottom line - competely satisfied!
